If you find your ball sitting down in the rough near the green so only the top is visible, do not try to chip it out conventionally. Instead, place your hand forward of the ball so your shaft leans backward to the ball. Take a short backswing and strike the ball in the middle so it is bumped out and rolls onto the green. This is a great shot to have in your bag.
